The challenge
Scale Collective aims to overcome the growth hurdles of tech SMEs through cooperative solutions, while simultaneously unlocking new potential.
However, shortly before the launch, the planned internal sales partner unfortunately pulled out, leading to enormous time pressure: the product was fully developed, but it lacked marketing and an active sales channel. The website only went live later, and the company had previously worked primarily through referrals – without cold calling or systematic lead generation.
LinkedIn activity has been minimal so far: 1-2 new contacts per week, which did not do justice to the innovative target group (CEOs and owners of tech SMEs). The biggest hurdle: standing out from the crowd to decision-makers and getting them to engage in conversation. Cold calls or mass emails have not worked in this context and have proven to be ineffective.
The solution
We began with an in-depth analysis of the offering and the buyer persona to create clear positioning. Based on this, we developed specifically tailored communication texts that were authentic and aligned with the pain points of tech SME decision-makers – with maximum personalisation through signals and triggers for the highest relevance.
As there was no prior outreach experience, we built benchmarking and A/B testing from the ground up to iteratively optimise messaging.
With detailed segmentation and qualification using tools like Clay, we ensured that every person contacted was not only theoretically but actually a good fit.
